Special Homecoming Issue

Join alumni and friends for U of L’s annual Homecoming celebration! As always, there will be a variety of events for everyone to attend. From spirit-inspiring pep rallies and award-winning musical performances to a friendly game of golf, there are many ways alumni can participate in the festivities and feel right at home again.

National U of L Alumni Day
Wear your red and show your support for U of L. Go Cards!

Alumni Association Homecoming Kick-Off Cook-Out and RSO Fair
Red Barn and SAC Lawn at 12 p.m. - Meet members of the 2005 Cardinal Football team and hear from Head Coach Bobby Petrino. Also, learn more about many of the university's recognized student organizations.

U of L Health Sciences Campus Cook-Out
HSC quadrangle, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Wednesday, September 28
U of L State of the University Address
4 p.m. in Bigelow Hall of the Miller IT Center - President Ramsey will speak about recent university accomplishments and plans for the future. For reservations, call the Alumni Office at 502-852-6186.

George Tsontakis at the School of Music
Steven Copes will perform Tsontokis' award winning composition Violin Concerto No. 2 at 8 p.m. in Margaret Comstock Hall of the School of Music. Tsontakis will be in the audience. For more information, contact the School of Music at 502-852-6907.

Homecoming Golf Scramble 9 a.m. at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky. Enjoy a day of golf with alumni and friends and contribute to a good cause. Proceeds will benefit the Marques Maybin Medical fund and Derek Smith Memorial Fund. Cost per person is $125; $500 per foursome. For reservations, contact the Alumni Office at 502-852-6186. Alumni Association Awards Presentation 5:30 p.m. presentation and reception in the University Club ballrooms - The Alumni Association will pay tribute to the 2005 Alumni Fellows and Alumnus of the Year. 8 p.m. in the University Club ballroom - the AAAC invites alumni and friends for a pre-Homecoming celebration. Hors d'oeuvres and cash bar will be available. For reservations, call the Alumni Office at 502-852-6186.

U of L Alumni Association Homecoming 5K Run/Walk/Wheel
8 a.m. at 4th Street Live in Downtown Louisville - proceeds benefit the Marques Maybin Medical Fund and the Derek Smith Memorial Fund. Cost per person is $25.

U of L Alumni Tailgate Central
9 a.m. at the Parrish House on Floyd Street - Join fellow Cardinal Fans for a pre-Homecoming game celebration. Food and drinks will be available from the Cardinal Inn and other vendors.

Homecoming Game
U of L vs. Florida Atlantic
12 p.m. kick-off at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. For tickets, contact the Alumni Office at 502-852-6186 or 800-813-8635.
