UofL's 287-acre Belknap Campus soon may grow to more than 320 acres. UofL President James Ramsey was among the participants at a July 2 news conference at which Kentucky Trailer announced they will move from 2601 S. Third St. to a new location. This makes it possible for the UofL Foundation to purchase the 33-plus-acre parcel, which is between the J.B. Speed School of Engineering and Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. |

When it comes to color preference, the Rouse family leans to red. In the 1980s, Robin Rouse was one of UofL’s first SOSers (student orientation leaders). Her husband, Michael, remembers that when he wasn’t in class, he was hanging out at UofL’s Red Barn. So, it may not come as a surprise to learn that their oldest daughter, Meghan, will be a freshman at UofL this fall. |

Poor dental health is a frequent problem in rural Kentucky. Lack of dental insurance, a shortage of dentists, nonfluoridated water and smoking are contributing factors. About 60 dental and dental hygiene students, more than a dozen faculty and some alumni from the UofL School of Dentistry spent June 28-29 in Pikeville, Ky. They provided free dental care to people who otherwise could not afford dental treatment. |
