Jeff Brohm ’96

Former letterwinner and alumnus Jeff Brohm is currently in his fourth season as head football coach at the University of Louisville and has quickly rebuilt the Cardinals into a postseason contender, reinforcing his reputation as one of the nation's most innovative offensive minds.

Brohm is 94-56 heading into his 13th season as a head coach (WKU, Purdue, Louisville). Since being named U of L's 24th head coach, he has guided the program to a 28-12 overall record, highlighted by four wins over Top 25 opponents. In 2025, the Cardinals recorded their third consecutive nine-win season, posting a 9-4 record. The season was highlighted by a road win over No. 2 Miami, the highest-ranked win over an AP Top 10 opponent in school history. The Cardinals closed the season with their first shutout (41-0) over in-state rival Kentucky since 2004 and a win over Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl.

In his first season in 2023, Brohm led the Cardinals to a 10-4 record, the program's first 10-win season since 2013. For his efforts, he was named one of three semifinalists for the Steve Spurrier First Year Coach of the Year Award. He led the team to its first-ever ACC title game appearance against Florida State, becoming the first coach in NCAA history to guide two different teams to conference championship game appearances in consecutive seasons (Purdue, Louisville).

A Louisville native, Brohm starred at Trinity High School, earning Kentucky Mr. Football honors in 1988. He has been inducted into both the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame and the KHSAA Hall of Fame. He played for the Louisville Cardinals under Howard Schnellenberger from 1989 to 1993. Brohm went on to play eight seasons in the NFL after earning his bachelor's degree in business administration from Louisville in 1994. His No. 11 jersey is honored in the team's Ring of Honor.

Brohm and his wife, Jennifer, have a son, Brady, and a daughter, Brooke. Jeff is one of four family members to be a football letterwinner at Louisville, along with his father, Oscar (1966-69), and brothers Greg (1989-92) and Brian (2004-07). The Brohm family, including mother Donna and sister Kim, was inducted into the Louisville Catholic Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
