Marcia Colone ’82

Marcia Colone has dedicated over 30 years of her career to the delivery of care coordination services at large academic health systems. Since 2017, Marcia has been the Vice President of Vanderbilt Medical Center's Transition Management and Post Acute Care Department, which has a staff of over 165 employees, comprised of senior directors, managers, case managers, social workers and discharge planners.

From 2008 to 2017, Marcia was the System Director of Care Coordination and Transition Planning at UCLA Health, where she provided leadership to UCLA Ronald Reagan and Santa Monica hospitals.

Marcia holds a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Indiana University, a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville and received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration.

Dr. Colone is a nationally recognized leader in the field of innovative care delivery models and practice, leadership and strategic change. She is a published author of several book chapters, webinars and articles. As a frequent presenter at national conferences throughout the country, Marcia also consults with hospitals and human service organizations.
