Kenneth A. Dennis ’69, ’73

Kenneth A. Dennis is a native Louisvillian and a man of many interests, including theatre, film, music, art and architecture. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969 and his Master of Arts degree in 1973, both from the University of Louisville.

Dennis taught for 28 years in the Jefferson County Public Schools, seven years in Louisville Catholic Schools and 22 years at Highlands Latin School. For many years, he wrote an entertainment column and reviewed theatre performances for various newspapers, including the Louisville Cardinal, Voice-Tribune and the Courier-Journal. In addition, he coached soccer, directed student plays and led student trips through the United States and Europe.

He is a lifetime member of the KEA, a founding member of the University Club of Louisville and a member of the Conn Legacy Society. Among his awards and recognitions are inclusion in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, two-time recipient of the Outstanding History Teacher in Kentucky Award, and recipient of the Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition for Teaching History and the Excellence in Teaching Award from Campbellsville University.

Currently, Dennis devotes much of his time to a personal Christian ministry of visiting residents of nursing facilities.
